Take a few minutes before your session to ground and clarify what you’d like to explore — peace, clarity, creativity, healing, or simply curiosity.
We suggest:
- Arriving well-hydrated
- Avoiding caffeine or heavy meals right before
- Wearing comfortable clothing
- Bringing an open mind — no expectations, just presence
Your Light Guide will explain what to expect, help you set your intention, and stay with you throughout the session to ensure your comfort and safety.
INTENTION SETTING VS. EXPECTATIONS
We ask that you come sober to your Lucia N°03 experience as well. The light is a powerful experience in itself and it’s not necessary to “enhance” it, especially the first time. The Lucia N°03 reminds us that there is a deep space within us that we can access at any point without taking any type of external substance.
The Lucia N°03 is not an entheogen. While it invites you to let go into a harmonic, expanded state of consciousness, it does not force you there. Expectations that it will be the same as a psychedelic experience (or really any comparisons or expectations) can actually block the process of experiencing the Lucia N°03 as it is. For some, the first experience in the light is life-changing, for others, it may take a series of experiences to drop in more deeply.
The Lucia N°03 experience is similar to a tuning fork. Therefore it is not about having a peak experience every time, but rather working with your current state to deliver exactly what you need the moment.

CREATIVE REFRESHER
This is a 5 Minute Session for refreshing your creative flow. While the longer sessions with the Lucia N°03 deeply relax the nervous system, shorter sessions can be ideal for activating the body, mind and spirit without getting sleepy. These are ideal to preface with breathwork, to center the body and clear out any stagnant energy in the system.
Step 01
- Tune In-
- The Lucia N°03 light guide introduces the Lucia light traveler to the experience, and answers any questions.
- - Generally either music is played through headphones. The light guide has a suggested few tracks they can offer, or you can bring your own music.
- - The Lucia N°03 light guide invites the light traveler to participate in a few minutes of breath-work and a 2 minute demonstration session.
- - After the first 2 minutes, the Lucia N°03 light guide will check in with the light traveler and see if they want to try a more intense session, try the same intensity of session again, or move directly into a longer session.
Step 02
- Let Go
- - During the longer session, the initial intention is to let go. Let go of any fears, expectations, thoughts, etc. Allow the light in.
- - Each session is completely different so trust that you will get exactly what you need in that moment.
- - Your breath is your guide that you can always come back to if it feels intense or if you find your mind wandering.
Step 03
- Welcome Forward
- - After the light turns off, take your time coming back. Slowly return to awareness of your body, the room etc, noticing the differences you may feel in perception, relaxation of the body and mind, clarity, etc.
- - The light guide will be available to check in with you about your experience and discuss anything that may have come up.
- - We recommend planning for at least 30 minutes to simply be present before picking up your phone or driving a car. Meditating, walking and/or journaling is recommended during this time.
- - We invite everyone to drink lots of water as energy has moved through your system.
- - Pay attention to your dreams and quality of sleep!

FAQ about Lucia N°03 light sessions
A: Most light therapy devices use narrow-band LEDs for mood or skin treatment.
The Lucia N°03 uses solid halogen + flickering LEDs to create full-spectrum, brain-entraining photic stimulation — engaging the entire neural network and activating the pineal and thalamic pathways.
A: It can evoke similar neural and visual patterns — gamma synchronization, thalamocortical resonance, and a sense of unity — but without substances.
You remain fully sober, present, and in control, while accessing the same integrative brain states that underlie visionary or mystical experiences. Plus, it's much more relaxing, and doesn't last 12 hours.
Yes — the light interacts directly with your visual cortex, not the retina. Many people see vivid color, geometry, or movement that feels three-dimensional, even though their eyes remain closed. If you keep your eyes closed, it will not damage them. If you open them, it will just be very bright, and you may want to close them again!
A: Yes for most people. However, those with a history of photosensitive epilepsy, severe migraines, or unstable psychiatric conditions should speak with their practitioner or physician first. Your Light Guide can adapt intensity and program for your comfort.
A: The Lucia N°03 generally takes people on a wave, from intensity to a slow unwind, to deep relaxation. Most people feel lighter, calmer, and more openhearted, as if their "windshield has been cleared." Some experience emotional release or inspired creativity for days afterward. Each session is unique, and we recommend a series of sessions (at least 6 in 6 weeks) to receive longer-lasting benefits.
A: Due to the stroboscopic nature, children under 18 are expected to be accompanied by an adult and may need to go through more vigorous screening, as their brains are still developing and may be hypersensitive to flickering light. There is no "aging out" with the Lucia N°03, in fact, there is a preliminary study beginning to test the response of the lamp from people with dementia, with very positive results.
A: No effort is needed. The Lucia works with you — simply close your eyes, relax, and let the light lead. As with other experiences in expanded states, you can gently direct your consciousness to different topics of locations, but for the first session, it's recommended to just relax and breathe.
